A manager coordinates the efforts of the employees of the organization in order to reach predetermined goals. The manager ensures that the plans are carried out effectively and that the objectives are achieved.

A manager works to motivate the staff of the organization to attain greater productivity and to increase the efficiency of the company. Employees are also encouraged to become more innovative and to develop new ideas. Moreover, this style of managing encourages the members of the team to work together, to be flexible and to adapt to changes. This way, the employees will feel that their jobs are secured.

Many management techniques are derived from psychology, economics and sociology. Hence, the management profession requires a great deal of expertise and knowledge. Consequently, it is important for every manager to acquire a sound education.

Effective management involves a proper coordination of resources and activities, and the allocation of appropriate financial resources. Managers should also encourage leadership in the organization. Furthermore, they should provide remuneration that is reasonable.

The goal of management is to maximize the organizational potential and make it more profitable. Nevertheless, the goals of the organization can differ, depending on the needs of the organization and the nature of the business. For example, profit maximization might require the manager to minimize cost and waste.

Management is a continuous process. In an evolving world, management must be flexible. An effective and efficient management must adjust to the changes in the environment. If an organization does not manage itself well, it will not be able to function for a long time.

Management is a system of principles that harmonizes the five basic elements: planning, organizing, leading, controlling, and managing. All of these functions are closely interrelated. Depending on the situation and the time, the managers have to adapt their styles.

Whether an organization is a large, small, or medium one, it cannot operate efficiently without management. Generally, the top management is entrusted with the responsibility of directing the overall operations of the organization. They set strategic plans, develop the organizational structure, and coordinate the efforts of the employees.

A good manager uses a variety of styles to manage different types of tasks and subjects. In general, an agile management style is growth-focused and promotes innovation and collaboration. Alternatively, a manager can use a more conventional style to handle specialized tasks.

Regardless of the style of management, all employees are valued. A manager should always try to treat all employees with respect. On the other hand, an employee may become dissatisfied or resentful of the manager when he or she receives a favorable treatment.
